Stretch film is an elastic polyethylene film. Helps prevents the goods shifting during transit thus reducing damage to the goods. 300% stretchibility. Available in various sizes ranging from 50mm to 1500 mm. Available for manual as well as mechanical use.

Stretch film, also known as stretch wrap, is a highly stretchable plastic film typically made from linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE). It's primarily used in packaging to secure products tightly to pallets for storage or shipping.

Key Features of Stretch Film

1. Elasticity:

  • The film can be stretched significantly before breaking.
  • This elasticity allows it to pull back, holding items tightly together, enhancing load stability.

2. Cling:

  • The clinginess of the film ensures that it sticks to itself but not to the products.
  • This self-adhering quality helps maintain the wrap without adhesives or tape.

3. Transparency:

  • Often clear, stretch film allows for easy identification of products without unwrapping.
  • Colored or opaque versions are also available for privacy or inventory coding.

4. Durability:

  • Resistant to tears and punctures, even under stress or during movement.
  • Offers a barrier against dust, dirt, and moisture.

Primary Functions of Stretch Film

Load Stability: Holds goods firmly in place on pallets, reducing the risk of shifting or toppling during transportation.

Protection: Shields products from environmental elements such as dust, moisture, and UV exposure (if UV film is used).

Theft Deterrence: Tightly wrapped pallets make tampering or theft more noticeable and difficult.

Cost-Efficiency: Lightweight and easy to apply, it’s a low-cost solution compared to other packaging methods.

Applications

  • Logistics and Warehousing: To stabilize shipments for long hauls.
  • Retail and Wholesale: To bundle similar items for easier handling.
  • Manufacturing: To protect finished goods from damage or contamination.
  • Food and Beverage Industry: Often used for bulk packaging and pallet wrapping.
